Dr. Janet L. Kennedy thrives on the physiology and problem solving inherent to Reproductive Endocrinology, and finds the result of that problem solving—healthy, happy parents and babies—to be the greatest reward of her work.

Dr. Kennedy obtained her Bachelor’s Degree with honors from the Johns Hopkins University in 1974; the first undergraduate class in JHU history to graduate women. She proceeded to attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and was awarded her Medical Degree in 1978. After one year of internship in York, Pennsylvania, Dr. Kennedy completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Kennedy obtained her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia from 1982 to 1984. She then moved back to Baltimore and served for four years as Assistant Professor in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Between 1988 and 2004, Dr. Kennedy was engaged in the private practice of Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility, and Gynecology in Baltimore. During this time, she received numerous awards including the Golden Apple Teaching Award for excellence in resident teaching and guidance as well as being named one of Baltimore Magazine’s Best Doctors in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

In 2004, Dr. Kennedy moved to the Seattle Area to open the Northwest Center for Reproductive Sciences which went on to merge with Seattle Reproductive Medicine in 2011. At SRM, Dr. Kennedy achieved the status of ͞Top Doc by both Seattle Magazine and Seattle Metropolitan Magazine.

Dr. Kennedy is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Kennedy is also a member of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, the American Andrology Society, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Dr. Kennedy sees patients at the Kirkland and Bellevue locations. Though she sees patients with all types of infertility, her particular professional interests include male factor infertility, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD).
